A classic cricket series

EVEN though Bangladesh lost the 3rd ODI against England, it was classic cricket all the way. Both sides played well, but in the end it was England's batting experience that paved the way for them to clinch the series.

Bangladesh scored 277 runs for 6 wickets in the 50 stipulated overs, while England scored 278 for 6 wickets in 47.5 overs. As a result, England won by 4 wickets with 13 balls remaining.

The most successful batsman of Bangladesh in this match was Mushfiqur Rahim, the wicket- keeper and former captain who scored 67 not out with the help of 1 six and 4 fours. Besides, he caught Duckett brilliantly off the bowling of Shafiul Islam.

The other notable batsmen in the match were Sabbir (49), Imarul (46), Tammim (45) and Mosaddek 38 not out. Mosaddek also took a wicket. Skipper Mashrafe captured 2 wickets for 51 runs.

In the second ODI, Mahsrafe played a delightful innings scoring 44 runs with 2 fours and 3 sixes and bagged 4 wickets for just 29 runs that led him to win the Player of the Match and guided to a well deserved victory over the mighty England. Congratulation Mashrafe!

Now there are two Tests to be played in Chittagong and Dhaka. England have so far played 8 Test matches against Bangladesh and won all of them. So it will be a challenge for Bangladesh to beat England in Test matches. On the other hand, it will be a valuable experience for Bangladesh. I wish the Tigers best of luck.
