Kabaddi World Cup
From a leading position, Bangladesh conceded a narrow 32-35 points defeat against South Korea in their 3rd Pool A match in the 12-team Kabaddi World Cup-2016 in the Indian city of Ahmedabad on Thursday night, reports UNB. With this defeat, the semifinal berth of Bangladesh from Pool A has now become uncertain as they suffered a humiliating 20-57 points defeat against defending champions India in their 2nd match on Tuesday, despite a good start in the tournament outplaying England by 52-18 points in the opening match.
In the 3rd match, Bangladesh made a flying start to take a 10-0 lead with a lona against South Korea in the early first session, but later, Korean team regrouped themselves with their brilliant game plan to finish the first half by 15-15 points.
Bangladesh, who dominated the match by 30-26 points with just one and a half minutes to go, conceded a frustrating 32-35 points defeat due to their wrong strategy in the dying moment.
Bangladesh, placed in Pool A along with defending champions India, South Korea, Australia, England and Argentina, will play Australia on October 17 at 9:30 pm and Argentina on October 19 at 8.30 pm in the remaining Pool A matches.
After the match, South Korea dominated the Pool A with all-win run securing 15 points while holders India followed them with eleven points.
Top two teams from each of the pool will qualify for the semifinals after playing the group matches on round robin league basis.
