Trades resume at Benapole Land Port
Trades resumed between Bangladesh and India through Benapole Land Port in Jessore district on Thursday after nearly a week-long vacation of Durga Puja and Holy Ashura.
Clearing and forwarding agents’ association leaders said that import and export activities restarted in the morning at the country’s biggest land port after six days of vacations.
Trucks loaded with imported goods started entering Benapole from Petrapole of India around 8:45am.
Assistant customs officer (custom cargo branch) of Benapole Check Post has said that activities in every branch of customs house has resumed.
At least 15 trucks entered Benapole land port till 10:00am, he added.
Customs officials said they have asked persons concerned to unload the imported goods properly, according to a news agency. – bz
