Five more corpses found as Barisal boat capsize death toll hits 23
Five more bodies of those who drowned have been pulled from the Sandhya river in Barisal's Banariparha where a launch had sunken.
Banariparha Police Station Sub-Inspector Md Mamun said the bodies were recovered on Thursday, taking the count of deaths in the incident to 23.
The five included Fire Service worker Ruhul Amin, 30, who was among the passengers of the vessel, 'ML Oishee', which capsized on Wednesday afternoon.
Three others were identified as 'Khukumoni', 25, child Maria, and housewife 'Hamida', whose age could not be immediately known. The other body, of an elderly man, could not be identified.
The authorities had called off the search operation after pulling out the vessel earlier in the morning.
The five bodies were found floating in different areas later, the police official said, according to a news agency.
