Hasina, Suu Kyi agrees to resolve bilateral issues through dialogues
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Myanmar State Councillor Aung San Suu Kyi agreed to resolve all bilateral issues through dialogue.
The consensus came when the two leaders had a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the 71st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) at the UN Headquarters in New York on Monday, reports a news agency.
PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim confirmed the two leaders agreement to reporters and they discussed on various bilateral issues.
During the meeting, the premier welcomed the Kofi Annan Commission on issues of Rohingya.
Sheikh Hasina reiterated her "zero tolerance" stance on terrorism and said Bangladesh has set an example of effective cooperation with its other neighbours in combating terrorism.
The prime minister also Suui Kyi to visit Bangladesh.
PM's ICT Advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali, Principal Secretary Abul Kalam Azad and Foreign Secretary Md Shahidul Haque were present, among others. - IH
