India okays $1bn highway project linking Nepal, Bhutan, BD
India has approved a $1.04-billion project for constructing and upgrading 558 kilometres of roads to link it with Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh, and ease the movement of passengers and cargo, as part of the larger effort to increase intra-regional trade by 60 per cent.
The new project has been given an official nod by India's Department of Economic Affairs, according to a news agency. -bz
