New MD joins Karmasangsthan Bank
Md. Abdur Rouf has joined as new managing director of the state-owned Karmasangsthan Bank, according to a statement.
The specialised bank was established in 1998 with a view to involving the unemployed people of the country, especially the youth, in the economic activities through self-employment opportunities for poverty alleviation.
Prior to the new appointment, Mr. Rouf had served the country's biggest state-owned commercial bank-Sonali Bank Limited-as Deputy Managing Director.
A management post graduate, Mr. Rouf was the General Manager of the Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB), an investment bank in Bangladesh.
He was also chairman at the Board of Directors of the ICB Securities Trading Ltd.
During his long career, he worked as General Manager at Karmasangsthan Bank, as the Chief Executive Officer of the ICB Capital Management Ltd. and also worked in different capacities at the ICB.
