Hasina spends busy day in Montreal

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina spent a busy day in Montreal of Canada on Saturday. She attended the opening session of the second working day of the Fifth Replenishment Conference of the Global Fund (GF) as well as its other events today.

Along with other heads of state and government, Sheikh Hasina joined the opening session of the second working day of the conference at the Assembly Hall of the ICAO Headquarters in the morning.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Canadian Minister of International Development and La Francophonie Marie-Claude Bibeau , Microsoft founder Bill Gates and Governor General of Canada David Johnston, among others, spoke at the session.

Earlier, Canadian Premier Justin Trudeau and Global Fund Executive Director Mark Dybal received the Bangladesh PM and other heads of state and government at the Assembly Hall.

Hasina later joined the official lunch hosted jointly by the Canadian prime minister and Governor General of Canada David Johnston and also the closing session of the conference, according to a news agency. -bz
