Blood donation for building a caring society
DONATING blood is a noble gesture. On the one hand, it can save a person from dying an unusual death and reduce or eliminate the pains of suffering patients on the other. Every one of us should donate our blood regularly so that we can build a caring society among us. We often hesitate to donate blood out of a wrong perception that blood donation makes us weaker and it damages our health. This is not true. According to medical science, a healthy adult human being aged between 17 and 64 years can donate blood after every four months cycle.
When we want to donate blood at first the doctor examines us and make sure we are physically fit for donation. As we donate blood our blood is screened before transfusion. If any problem is found in the donated blood the donor is immediately informed. So regular donation makes us aware of our state of health and we can consult doctors in case of any health problem. Many organizations are working ceaselessly to encourage people to donate blood. We often find collecting blood during a medical emergency difficult. It is imperative that we should dispel all misconceptions about blood donation and freely donate blood whenever some one needs it.
