Corby (model S3653), a stylish new mobile handset of Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, is now available at the local market, particularly for the young generation.

High officials of Samsung and Electra, a distributor, unveiled three fashionable cell phone sets Friday at a city hotel.

The two other new models, CorbyTXT (B3210) and Corby3G (M5650), will be available in the market next month. Each of the hand sets has four colours - yellow, pink, black and white.

Kanghyun Lee, managing director of Samsung Dhaka office said, "With the launching of these handsets, Samsung Corby family series will fulfil every different lifestyle need, especially of the youths."

"Corby is an affordable touch screen handset focused on social networking," he added.

The Corby handset boasts a 2.8 inch TFT touched screen and can be used as an MP3 player, video playback device and a digital camera that has 2 megapixel sensor with smile detection.

The Samsung Corby users can be the centre of the social media revolution with a wide range of social networks support, such as Facebook, Twitter and MySpace.

Each Corby set will cost Tk 12,490 in Electra outlets.
