Flora Limited Chairman MN Islam has received lifetime achievement award for his contribution to the country's information and communication (ICT) sector, said a press release.

Speaker Advocate Abdul Hamid handed over the award to Mr Islam at a function organised by the Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the city Thursday.

Also present at the function were, Commerce Minister Mohammad Faruk Khan, State Minister for Science and ICT Architect Yeafesh Osman and BCS President Mustafa Jabbar.

During the last 38 years, the Flora chairman made great contribution in the marketing of various types of IT product, building up of trained manpower in IT sector.

Mr. Islam started marketing of office automation equipment in a very small scale in 1972.
