GOPALGONJ, Nov 21: Election of Upazila Central Cooperative Association (UCCA) Limited under Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB) was held in Gopalgonj Sadar recently.

Social worker Rezaul Haq Sikder was elected chairman defeating his rival candidate Farid Ahmed Daria former president, Gopalgonj Press Club.

Rezaul Haq Sikder got 89 votes and the defeated candidate Farid Ahmed Daria got 42 votes out of 131 votes cast while total number of voters were 135.

Other members of the executive committee elected uncontested are Vice-president Nasiruddin Molla, Director Syed Nazrul Islam, Syeul Haq Mia, Simima Islam Lily and Kahinoor Begum.

Upazila Cooperative Officer MD Sahiduzzaman conducted the election.
