Eastern Bank will get the refinance facilities from Bangladesh Bank for onward lending to its customers for setting up solar energy projects, bio-gas and effluent treatment plants.

A participation agreement in this connection was signed between Eastern Bank Limited (EBL) and Bangladesh Bank Thursday at the latter's head office under the 'Refinance scheme for solar energy, bio-gas and effluent treatment plant' introduced by Bangladesh Bank.

EBL Managing Director-cum-CEO Ali Reza Iftekhar and Bangladesh Bank Executive Director Md Abul Quasem signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides.

Bangladesh Bank Governor Atiur Rahman, Deputy Governor Md Nazrul Huda, EBL DMD and Head of Corporate Banking Fakhrul Alam and DMD (Operations) Mukhlesur Rahman were present, among others, on the occasion.
