Jamuna Bank Ltd started issuing standardised MICR coded cheque book replacing currently used cheque book for fast and easy transaction of money, according to a circulation of Bangladesh Bank.

The customers can deposit and transfer money very easily within a short time through the clearing house by Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) coded cheque books.

The currently used cheque books will not be accepted by BB's automated clearing house after October 30.

Jamuna Bank authority requested its clients to collect their own MICR and personalised cheque book immediately.

The clients can use their existing cheque book to withdraw money from the cash counter only.
