A day-long symposium organised by the Bangladesh Bank (BB) on 'Food Security: The Role of Central Banks in the SAARC Region' will be held at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the city today, said a press release.

Finance Minister Abul Maal A Muhith and Food and Disaster Management Minister Dr Abdur Razzak will attend the symposium as the chief guest and the special guest respectively.

Governors, deputy governors and other high officials of the central banks and the governments of the SAARC countries will attend the symposium. The speakers are expected to focus on the common issues and challenges relating to food security in the SAARC region.
