Nominations for Islamic banking award invited

Central Shariah Board for Islamic Banks of Bangladesh (CSBIB) has invited nominations for its 'Islamic Banking Award' from personalities and organisations, who/which have made basic and mentionable contributions to the development, expansion, diversification and research works for Islamic economics and Islamic banking in Bangladesh, said a press release.

It has decided to offer the award to recognise their contributions and encourage bald-faced research programme aiming at turning Islamic banking not an all-round welfare oriented banking after facing the present and future challenges on the way to advancement of Islamic Economics and Islamic Banking.

The award includes a certificate, a medal or crest and a cash endowment of Tk 100,000.00 only.

According to the decision, CSBIB is inviting nominations of the eligible personalities and organisations from the Islamic personalities, Islamic banks, Islamic financial institutions, universities, intellectual organisations and other learned circles for 'Central Shariah Board Islamic Banking Award' for the year 2008.
