Six sub-stations to be set up in Rajshahi div

The government has approved a proposal to set up six power sub-stations in six districts of Rajshahi division, joint secretary of the Cabinet Division Nurul Karim said Tuesday, reports bdnews24.com.

The sub-stations will be established at Rangpur, Gaibandha, Sirajganj, Pabna, Dinajpur and Thakurgaon with 33KV capacity, Karim said after a meeting of the cabinet committee on public purchase.

The government will provide almost Tk 50 million (5 crore) of the project financing and 8.3 million euros will come from foreign aid.

The committee also approved three other proposals, including one to import 200,000 tonnes of urea at a cost of Tk 4.14 billion.

Moreover, premium on fuel was also restructured, Karim said. Premium on diesel was set at $5.75 from $5.90 and on kerosene at $6.40 from $6.60 for the period of Sept-Dec this year.

For the months of Jan-June, 2010 premium on diesel will be $4.70 and on kerosene $6.25.
