The businessmen and women entrepreneurs of Naogaon district have been urged to take service of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL).
IBBL Deputy Managing Director Mohammed Shamsul Haque made the appeal while presiding over the inaugural function of the 205th branch of the bank at Kismot Plaza, Mohadevpur in Naogaon district Sunday, the bank said in a statement.
Director of the bank Prof Mohammad Nazrul Islam inaugurated the branch as the chief guest while Mohadevpur Upazila Parishad Chairman Riasat Haider Tagar was the special guest at the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Md Nazrul Islam said that the bank had been considered as a model bank now.
IBBL has been giving modern banking services by establishing the largest online network, he said.
Mohammed Shamsul Haque said that IBBL was established with a view to free the nation from bad effect of interest and set up islamic economics. IBBL has brought facilities for the people of Mohadevpur for doing interest free islamic banking by establishing this branch. He called upon the people to receive the cordial service of IBBL.
Former lawmaker Nasir Uddin, Mohadevpur Upazila Parishad vice chairmen Md Shazzad Hossain and Hasina Biswas, IBBL Executive Vice President and Head of Rajshahi Zone Md Mahftizur Rahman and Manager Md Hasanuzzaman also spoke on the occasion.
On the other hand, a seminar on 'Islamic Economics and Banking' organised by Mohadevpur branch of IBBL was held on the branch premises Saturday.
Director of the bank Prof Mohammad Nazrul Islam was present as the chief guest at the seminar while Member of Shari'ah Council of the bank Dr Hasan Mohammad Moinuddin addressed the seminar as the chief discussant.
