Armed muggers snatched Tk 3.0 million (30 lakh) from two employees of a business house after injuring them at Lalmatia in the city Monday, police said.
The critically injured employees-an accountant of Jason Group, Mizanur Rahman and driver Rubel-were hospitalised in the city.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Mohammadpur police station Shafiqur Rahman told the FE that a gang of muggers appeared and opened fire at the employees in their office soon after they returned after withdrawing the amount from Dhanmondi branch of HSBC bank at noon, leaving them wounded.
Later, the gang snatched two bags containing the amount, from the employees and escaped on three motorbikes.

Pappu, an employee Ali Hossain and driver Rubel went to the bank at noon and returned to office at 5/9 Block A in Lalmatia with the money when the incident took place.
"They withdrew Tk 3.0 million against salary and other expenses of the employees," he said.
The police are yet to arrest anyone in connection with the shooting incident. "Drives are on to arrest the culprits," Bhuiyan Mahbub, officer-in-charge of Mohammadpur Police Station, said.
Jason Group owns a pharmaceutical company and other business concerns.
