Citibank, NA, Bangladesh and Sonali Bank Limited signed a new Correspondent Banking Agreement in the city Thursday, said a press release.

Through this agreement, Citi will be able to issue demand drafts drawn on the branches of Sonali Bank Limitted, which will enable Citi to execute payment instructions on behalf of its clients across the country.

From Sonali Bank Limited, the ceremony was attended by Kazi Faqurul Islam, Deputy Managing Director, Pradip Kumar Dutta, Deputy Managing Director, Mushtaque Ahmed, Deputy Managing Director, Md. Atiqur Rahman, General Manager and Hasan Iqbal, Deputy General Manager. Citibank, N.A. Bangladesh was represented by Parvez Murshed, Head of Global Transaction Services, Masum Billah, Head of Operations and Technology, Mir G Hafiz, Head of Cash Management Operation, Masud Hossain, Head of Bank Services Group and Ghazi M Abu Huraira, Head of Cash Product. Other senior officials from both banks were also present.
