Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) is playing vital role in reducing poverty through different micro investment projects and they have been able to gain reputation in this regard.
Former chairman of IBBL Nazir Ahmed said this while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion on "Islami Banking System and Poverty Alleviation" followed by an Iftar Mahfil at the New Market branch of IBBL in the city recently.
Executive Vice President and South Zone Chief of IBBL Md Nozibor Rahman was present as the special guest at the discussion while its Vice President and New Market Branch Manager Mohammed Jalal Uddin presided over the function, said a press release.
Prof Miah Mohammed Nurul Haq of Dhaka College and Khatib of Kolabagan Road Jam-e- Mosque HM Motahar Uddin also spoke on the occasion.
IBBL is the largest private commercial bank as far as capital base is concerned.
It is a first generation private commercial bank in the country
