HABIGANJ, Aug 26: Eight people drowned as an engine-driven boat capsized in the swirling waters of a haor in Baniachang Upazila Tuesday night. The deceased were identified as Anandamayee (70), Uma Tara (75), Omaya Das (55), Biswahari Das (45), Lima Das (60), Tama Rani Das (9 months), Usha Rani (60), and 7-month-old Monika. All the deceased hailed from Noabad village in the upazila. — UNB
