FRANKFURT, Aug. 3 (Bloomberg): German stocks advanced as Linde AG reported earnings that beat analysts' estimates and ING Groep NV lifted its recommendation for financial firms and basic- resources companies.
The benchmark DAX Index rose 0.9 per cent to 5,378.04 as of 10:06 a.m. in Frankfurt, recouping a 0.5 loss on July 31. German companies that have reported quarterly earnings so far beat projections by an average of 15 per cent, while net income declined 70 per cent, according to Bloomberg data. The broader HDAX Index rallied 0.8 per cent today.
