CHUADANGA, July 21(UNB): A farmer was hacked to death by a gang of robbers at Raypur village in Jibonnagar Upazila Monday.

The deceased was identified as Sadhan Karmakar (45). Police said a gang of robbers, numbering 25 to 30, stormed into the village at about 2:30 am and committed robbery.

Hearing the scream of the inmates, when Sadhan came out from his house to see the matter the gang chased him and chopped him indiscriminately in his house, leaving him dead. On information, police rushed in and arrested Debashish (35), son of Shridhan Chakravarty of the village in this connection.

A case was filed.
