Dhaka Power Distribution Company Limited (DPDC) Sunday signed two agreements with Energypac Engineering Limited to implement two projects aimed at improving power situation in parts of the capital and Narayanganj.
Asian Development Bank (ADB) is financing both the projects worth US$12,144,880 and $1,715,282 each, which is expected to increase DPDC's distribution capacity by 235 megawatt during next summer.
Capacity of 11 33/11 kv sub-centres situated in Satmasjid, Zigatola, Dhanmondi, Tejgaon, Khilgaon, Taltola, Postgola, Kajla, Fatullah, Demra and Shampur BSCIC will increase once the projects are implemented, says a DPDC press release.
The company hopes the load-shedding in most parts of Dhaka city and Narayanganj district town alongside the areas on the northern part of the river Shitlakkhya will lessen after the projects implementation, the release added.
