Prime Bank Limited arranged a three-day workshop on 'Fire drill and first aid' at Fire service and Civil Defence complex in the city recently as part of corporate social responsibilities (CSR).

Some 40 officials of the bank from Dhaka and its adjoining areas took part at the workshop, said a press release.

Prime Bank Senior Executive Vice-president (SEVP) Md Jasimuddin inaugurated the workshop.

Fire Service Training complex Principal Amzad Hossain was also present at the inauguration ceremony.

Md Jasimuddin said, "Every year extensive property is destroyed. Owing to lack of fire training, in most of the cases, we cannot do anything. With this view in mind, fire drill for Prime Bank officials is being arranged." He expressed his hope that the officials would be able to protect the bank's branches, their houses and adjoining areas during the hour of need. They would also be able to give first aid to the victims.

All the officials of the bank would be given training on the same in phases, he added.

Principal of Fire Service Training Complex said, "This is for the first time any organisation came forward of their own to acquire such a training."

Senior officer of the bank Shohel Rashed was the co-coordinator during the training course.
