The ninth annual general meeting (AGM) of Republic Insurance Company Limited has approved 5.0 per cent cash dividend for the year that ended on December 31, '08.

The AGM was held in the city recently. Vice Chairman of the company Mohd Hanif Chowdhury presided over the meeting, said a press release.

A good number of shareholders attended the meeting.

Among others, directors of the company ASM Nayeem, Sadeque Hossain Chowdlhury, SM Fazlul Hoque, Nurul Mostafa, Hasina Gazi and Khurshida Rahman and Managing Director Obaidul Kabir Khan and Company Secretary Sajan Kumar Basak were present at the meeting.

The vice chairman welcomed the shareholders and appreciated their suggestions and sought their continuous support and cooperation and highlighted the success of the company, the release added.
