M/s Bengal Pelli (BD) Limited, a Bangladesh-Portugal joint venture company, is going to establish a leather footwear factory in the Adamjee Export Processing Zone (EPZ).
In this connection, an agreement was signed between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and M/s Bengal Pelli (BD) Limited in the city Tuesday, said a press release.
Member (Investment Promotion) of the BEPZA Prasanta Bhushan Barua and Managing Director of Bengal Pelli (BD) Mohammed Anwar Hossain signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
The company will invest US$5.01 million in setting up the factory and will create employment opportunities for 621 Bangladeshis including 10 foreign nationals, the release added.
