Md Hashem Chowdhury has been promoted to the rank of deputy managing director (DMD) with the Mutual Trust Bank Limited (MTB), with effect from July 1, 2009, said a press release.

Prior to this promotion, he was the senior executive vice president (SEVP) and in-charge/head of the General Services Department, Banking Operations Department, Business Development, Public Relations and Brand Communication Department and Recovery and Monitoring Department. He was also the supervisor of MTB Chittagong area branches.

Hashem joined MTB as a member of its founding team in April 1999, and has over the last decade, made considerable contribution to the bank. He has served MTB's principal branch for over nine years, of which four years was spent at its helm, driving remarkable business growth and delivering a steady stream of profits to the bank.
