GP, PBL sign deal on online bill collection

Grameenphone Ltd and Prime Bank officials signing an online bill collection agreement in the city recently.
 

Grameenphone Ltd (GP) has taken another step forward in real-time banking solutions for its postpaid customers with the signing an agreement with Prime Bank Ltd (PBL) in the city recently.

From now on, all enlisted branches of PBL would be providing real time bill collection information to GP, said a press release.

The real time arrangement would provide billing information updates to GP every five minutes, thus ensuring GP subscribers' uninterrupted service.

The accord also encompasses auto debit facilities (for both IR and local bills) for GP postpaid users.

Grameenphone Ltd AGM, Finance Division, Saiful Islam and Head of Fund Management and Collections Rony Riad Rashid and PBL Deputy Managing Director Ahmed Kamal Khan Chowdhury exchanged the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.

GP Head of Credit Collection and M-Commerce Nasim Imran Ahmed and Head of Banking Najmul Ahasan Prince attended the signing ceremony while Head of IT Iqbal Hossain, Head of Banani Branch Quazi ASM Anisul Kabir and other officials from PBL were also present on the occasion.

Presently GP's post-paid subscribers' can use 23 banks (570 branches across the country) and financial institutions for settlement of their relevant charges.

Other than PBL, there are 12 other banks, namely, Bank Asia Ltd, BRAC Bank Ltd, Dhaka Bank Ltd, Dutch-Bangla Bank Ltd, Eastern Bank Ltd, EXIM Bank Ltd, Jamuna Bank Ltd, One Bank Ltd, Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd, Southeast Bank Ltd, The City Bank Ltd, and UCBL that can facilitate real time bill collection.
