CHITTAGONG, June 24: United effort is a must for developing the existing taxation system and making it welfare oriented.
Commissioner of Taxes of Chittagong Taxation Zone-2 Pervez Iqbal said this as the chief guest at the installation function of the newly elected executive committee of Chittagong Taxation Lawyers Association (CTLA) at its auditorium in the city recently.
He also said that tax lawyers contributed a lot towards realising revenue through proper enforcement of taxation act.
Commissioner of Taxes appreciated the remarkable role of the members of CTLA and sought overall co-operation of tax lawyers in realising the taxes properly.
The function was chaired by the association president Golam Mawla.
Commissioners of Taxes, Chittagong Zone-1 Romesh Chandra Basak, Zone-3 Sultan Mahmud, Taxes Appellate Tribunal member Sanjeet Kumar Biswas and senior tax lawyers were also present on the occasion.
