Abdul Haque has been elected chairman of the Mercantile Insurance Company Limited for the seventh time.
He, immediate past president of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, was elected chairman for the one-year term at the 13th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in the city Tuesday.
Haque is also the founder chairman of Shamol Bangla Media Ltd and chairman of Royal Green Securities Ltd, Royal Green Products Ltd, Diganta Prokaushali Ltd and managing director of Evergreen Group of companies.
