Nestle Bangladesh Limited has taken steps to ensure good life by providing clean drinking water in a few village schools.

Nestle Bangladesh launched the latest facility at Pirujali High School in Gazipur Sunday to invest in drilling and constructing water tanks that store clean drinking water allowing the school children regular access to drinking water, said a press release.

The projects also include education component -- water education programmes to teach students about the importance of clean water, the need for conservation and the link between clean water, hygiene, health and wellbeing.

In this connection, the school management organised a function in presence of students, teachers and local people.

Nestle Bangladesh Managing Director (MD) Laurent Therond inaugurated the function.

The Nestle Bangladesh MD stressed on the importance of having access to clean drinking water.

He urged the students to maintain the water facility in perfect condition at all time.

He also distributed prizes among the winners of an art competition.

Senior Manager (Corporate Affairs and Communication) of the company Mirza Golam Hossain also spoke on the occasion.

He laid emphasis on pure drinking water and said that the clean drinking water facility would help keep the beneficiaries safe from water borne diseases like diarrhoea, typhoid, jaundice, polio and dental diseases.
