A three-day Bangladesh Travel and Tourism Fair (BTTF) 2009 will begin from October 1 with a view to promoting the country's potential tourism sector.
President Zillur Rahman is expected to inaugurate the 2nd BTTF at Bangladesh China Friendship Conference Centre.
The Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB) in partnership with a number of local organisations including Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation (BPC), Biman Bangladesh Airlines, GMG Airlines, FBCCI and Eastern Bank will organise the fair.
"This year we are expecting participants from Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, India, Nepal and Bhutan," TOAB president Taufiq Uddin Ahmed said at press conference Monday in the city.
BTTF 2009 will create a unique opportunity for travel and tour operators to further expand their business both at home and abroad, said the organizers.
The TOAB successfully organised BTTF in 2007, which created a tremendous impact on promotion of the tourism sector, they mentioned.
There will be 155 stalls. The fair will remain open for all from 10.00 am to 9.00 pm everyday. The organiser is also going to arrange seminars, press conference and cultural shows during fair.
