Speakers at a discussion said unplanned development in the city was the main cause of environment pollution and public hazards.
They suggested enforcing strict legal procedures to stop unplanned development, control of traffic jam and recovering water bodies from illegal occupants. Held at the National Press Club, the meeting was organised by Bangladesh Development and Environment Forum (BDEF).
Dr Jafrullah Chowdhury of Ganashatha Kendro was the chief guest. BDEF president Sarder Muhammad Ali, REHAB president Tanvirul Haque Probal, Dhaka University's professor Atiqur Rahman, Assistant professor Hafizur Rahman Karjon, among others, were present in the meeting.
