SATKHIRA, June 20 (BSS): Two persons including, a woman, were killed and another received serious injury when thunderbolts struck them in Kaliganj and Shymnagar Upazilas of the district Wednesday.

The victims were identified as Abdur Rashid (50), son of Bahar Ali Gazi of village Khamarpara in Kaliganj Upazila, and Hasina Khatun (30) daughter of Mander Sadar of village Bangshipur in Shymnagar Upazila.

Police and family sources said, shrimp farm owner Abdur Rashid died on the spot in a tiny house of his shrimp farm at Shadpur village under Kaliganj Upazila when a thunderbolt struck him.

In another incident, Hasina Khatun of village Bangshipur in Shymnagar Upazila died when a thunderbolt struck her residence. One Shudir Kumar (45) who took shelter in the house was also injured seriously in the incident.
