500 KV sub-station supplies electricity to Mirinza tourist resort in Bandarban

RANGAMATI, June 20 (BSS): Darkness of night has disappeared from the tourist resort at Mirinza, surrounded by hills under Lama Upazila in Bandarban as Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation (BPC) set up a power sub-station there.

BPC sources said the newly-built 500 KV sub-station was set up by the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, formally launched Thursday last would supply electricity to the 3.5 square kilometres of area of Mirinza Tourist Complex.

With the electrification, the place would attract more tourists as they would be able to move safely at night and stay there with much comfort.

Director (Planning) of BPC, executive engineer of Power Development Board, director of Public Works Department and the Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Lama, visited the Mirinza tourist resort Thursday and expressed their satisfaction on completion of the sub-station.
