Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina Saturday called upon the non-government voluntary organisations to come forward for flourishing the latent talent of the disabled as well as establishing their dignity in society, reports BSS.

"Disability is not a disease and if they get cooperation and sympathy from society they will be able to contribute to the nation through flourishing their latent talent," she said.

The Prime Minister made this call while distributing wheel chairs among the war- wounded freedom fighters and under-privileged physically challenged persons at Osmani Memorial auditorium.

Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Capt (Rted) A B M Tajul Islam and Managing Director of Green Delta Insurance Company Ltd Nasir A Chowdhury also spoke at the function organised by Rotary Club of Motijheel.

Mentioning the laudable role of Rotarians for distributing wheel chairs among the physically retarded people including war wounded freedom fighters, Sheikh Hasina said, the government alone cannot shoulder responsibilities of war wounded freedom fighters due to resource constraints although it is the duty of the state.
