Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) Sunday contradicted a news item published in The Financial Express on June 7 last under the headline 'BGMEA's Training Centre closed.'

BGMEA termed the news item incorrect and said the Sweater Knitting and Linking Training Centre at Nilphamari was commenced on May 28, 2009 with full financial support from BGMEA and BIFT. It successfully concluded its first phase training.

In the 2nd phase of training, the 1st batch is going to pass out on June 28 next.
