Banglalink, country's second largest mobile company reported a 21 per cent increase year-on-year with total revenue of Tk.5.77 billion for Q1 2009.

The disclosure came as Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH), the holding company of Banglalink recently announced its 1st quarter financial results for 2009, said a statement.

Banglalink achieved EBITDA of Tk.1.47 billion and ended the quarter with almost 26 per cent EBITDA margin, down from 28 per cent during Q4 2008.

The slowdown of the industry continues with the withdrawal of SIM tax subsidy by major operators.
