CHITTAGONG, May 14: All out measures should be taken to protect the readymade garments (RMG) sector from the bites of global recession for the 3.5 million workers involved in this vital sector, which earns the lion share of the foreign currency for the country.
Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters' Association (BGMEA) First Vice President Nasiruddin Chowdhury said this while exchanging views with the journalists at Chittagong Press Club Tuesday.
He called upon the journalist community to play an active role for protecting the garments industry from all odds.
Describing hard labour as a key of success, BGMEA first vice president said his success as a RMG owner was only due to his devotion to hard work.
Chittagong Press Club President Abu Sufian thanked the BGMEA leader for his donation to the press club welfare fund.
