The two senior executive vice-presidents (SEVPs) of Mercantile Bank Limited (MBL) Md Abdul Jalil Chowdhury and Monindra Kumar Nath have recently been promoted to the post of deputy managing director (DMD), said a press release.
Mr Jalil joined Mercantile Bank Limited in 2000 and was posted as head of different branches in credit risk management and corporate banking division of the head office of the bank and discharged his duties efficiently.
He joined Janata Bank as probationary officer in 1977.
He also served in National Bank Limited and Southeast Bank Limited in different positions before joining the MBL.
He participated in different training, workshops and seminars at home and abroad.
Mr Monindra joined the MBL in 1999 and was posted as head of different branches and head of central accounts division in the head office of the bank and discharged his duties sincerely.
He started his career with National Bank Limited as probationary officer in 1983.
In 1985, he joined NCC Bank Limited and served there as in-charge of central accounts division for eight years.
Later, he was posted as in-charge at different branches in Dhaka and Chittagong.
He took part in extensive training courses in various aspects of banking at home and abroad.
