Mr Md Jillur Rahman has been promoted to the post of additional managing director (AMD) of Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited.
He joined the bank as executive vice president and posted as manager of main branch on May 15, 2001. He was promoted to the post of DMD on July 1, 2005, said a press release.
Mr Rahman started his banking career by joining the Uttara Bank Limited in 1973 as probationary officer after completing post graduation in Mathematics from the University of Dhaka.
He joined the Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited in 1985 and discharged responsibilities as manager of its Narayangonj, Andarkilla-Chittagong, Comilla and Rajshahi branches.
Mr Rahman also served the Prime Bank Limited as its Islami Banking branch manager between 1995 and 2001.
He received training on Islamic banking from Tehran of Iran and attended seminars, workshops in China and Malaysia, the release added.
