The 29th annual general meeting (AGM) of Jute Spinners Limited has approved 20 per cent cash dividend for its shareholders for the year 2007-2008.
The AGM was held in the city recently. Chairman of the company Muhammad Shams-ul Haque presided over the meeting, said a press release.
A large number of shareholders attended the AGM.
The AGM also approved the annual audited report for the year 2007-2008 and appointed an auditor for the next fiscal year.
Addressing the AGM, the chairman said that that the company earned a considerable amount of foreign currency and a significant profit by exporting jute yarn during the fiscal year 2007-08.
Among others, directors Muhammad Shams-ul Huda, Muhammad Shams-uz Zoha and Muhammad Shams-ul Kadir and Independent Director AKM Shahjahan, Executive Director Faizur Rahman Chaudhury, Chief Financial Officer Toffazzal Hossain Bhuiyan and Company Secretary ATM Mostafa were present at the AGM.
